TLILIC0005 LICENSE TO OPERATE A BOOM-TYPE elevating work platform (boom length 11mts or more) is the high-risk work licence course that is required for operators who work above 11 mts. RIIHAN301E OPERATE ELEVATING WORK PLATOFRM is designed for operators of Scissor Lifts and WP's under 11 Mts. Both courses ensure compliance to Australian safety standards and provide hands-on experience for safe and effective operation.

  • TLILIC0005 - License to Operate a Boom-Type Elevated Work Platform

    (Boom length 11 metres or more)
    Develop the skills and knowledge required to safely plan for, perform and pack up a boom-type Elevating Work Platform (EWP) where the length of the boom is 11 metres or more in accordance with all relevant legislative requirements.
    This unit is based on the licensing requirements of Part 4.5 of the Model Work Health and Safety (WHS) Regulations and meets Commonwealth, State and Territory HRWL requirements.

  • RIIHAN301E - LICENCE TO OPERATE A BOOM-TYPE ELEVATING WORK PLATFORM (

    This unit covers your legal requirement to hold and maintain current training records in the safe operational and general use of Work Platforms.

Course Content and skills Comprehensive EWP Training Curriculum

Certification and Assessment Nationally Recognised Certification and Assessments

Successful completion of each course results in a Nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency completed. These include written, practical, and observational evaluations to ensure competency.

Upon successful completion of the TLILIC0005 unit, you will also be issued with your Candidate Assessment Summary (CAS). You will then use that document to apply to WHSQ for your high risk work licence (HRWL).

Depending on the course you select, and the time it takes you to collate workplace logged experience, the duration will vary. Training is conducted at our fully equipped facility to simulate real-world scenarios and provide a hands-on learning experience.

The course will always start at 8am sharp on the scheduled day

Formal theory training

The 8 hour course content follows the required knowledge you will need for the assessment. Group discussion and questions are encouraged, and the trainer spends time to explain the fundamental aspects of safe work platform operations. At the completion of the day, the participants are issued logbooks

Informal training

The duration of this stage is specific to your individual needs with a 12 month limit. In this stage you will gain workplace experience under supervision or spend one-on-one time with the trainer recording your experience in your logbook.

Formal mandated HRWL Assessments

This is the formal mandated assessments from WHSQ for the high-risk work licence. It consists of written assessment, calculations assessment, and a performance assessment. Allow 6-8 hours.

Formal mandated HRWL Assessments

Generally an 8 hour day where participants provide evidence of experience, this course covers knowledge and skill required to operate WP's (under 11 mts). If required you may go onto a logbook with a little more time allocated before completing this unit assessment.
